Pernambuco, called "The Music Tree" in its native Brazil, is an outstanding tonewood. It is very rarely available in guitar sets. Fortunately, I have a good supply. In addition to the pernambuco back and sides, this guitar has a bearclaw European spruce top, and Madagascar rosewood fretboard, bridge, bindings, and headstock veneers. The purfling and backstrip are custom made from curly maple; the rosette and end graft are of camphor burl. The five-piece neck is of mahogany, maple, and walnut.
